Geren Williams
Abstract: The most successful proposal professionals understand the particulars of capture management. This comprehension allows them to fashion most effectively solutions and proposals that focus on solving a client's most critical needshis absolute musts. This presentation introduces a crisp framework and a step-by-step approach to conducting winning capture. It is a primer for staffers who conduct capture periodically and an introduction for the novice faced with having to lead or participate in a capture effort.
Bio: Geren Williams is a VP of Capture Management for CACI, Inc. He is responsible for the successful pursuit of new and re-compete business and functions as Capture Manager for large (in excess of $100M), strategic, and high value opportunities. Prior to CACI, Geren was a senior leader in Booz Allen Hamilton's Critical Strategic Initiatives (CSI) team. CSI brought together the firm's most experienced competitive strategists and proposal experts to focus on the largest, most complicated, and most strategic procurements. Geren is a member of APMP and SCIP and is certified in Competitive Intelligence by the Academy of Competitive Intelligence (ACI).

Abstract: Whether you're running a sandwich shop, a gourmet restaurant, or a banquet hall, to serve a quality product and deliver exceptional service, many factors need to be considered and the key elements need to be in place. These include determining the cuisine you'll offer, determining your staffing requirements, considering what equipment you'll need, the steps you'll follow, getting feedback from your customers and much more. There are many parallels between restaurants and proposals, from planning your menu and sharpening your knives to selecting raw ingredients and knowing how to cook up a five-star feast.
In this session, a master "Proposal Chef", with more than 25 years designing, developing, and working in proposal kitchens, will provide insights into designing the proposal kitchen you need and understand the resources you need to have in place to deliver a great meal and satisfy your customers every time.

Along with Jon Williams. BJ is the co-author of the popular proposal blog "The Proposal Guys". Bio: Bob Lohfeld has more than 30 years' experience winning contracts in the government market. He is consistently recognized for leadership in business development, capture management, and creating winning proposals. He is the founder of Lohfeld Consulting Group, a leading Capture and Proposal Consulting firm specializing in government market procurements, and he writes the Capture Management column in Washington Technology magazine.
Prior to forming Lohfeld Consulting Group, Bob served as Division President at Lockheed Martin, Vice President of Lockheed Martin Information Technology, Senior Vice President at OAO Corporation, Systems Engineering Manager at Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC), and Program Manager at Fairchild Industries.

Bio: Betsy Blakney, PPF.APMP, is an APMP Fellow, Accreditation Mentor and APMP's CEO. A former APMP COO, Board Secretary, and Regional Director, she served as the 2010 International Conference Co-chair and on the APMP Journal staff since 2008. She was elected the APMP-NCA President in 2003 and served as the Secretary/Treasurer from 2001-2002. Prior to joining OCI, he was Senior Proposal Manager with SAIC for more than 3 years and spent 27 years with Lockheed Martin, the last 8 as Manager of Proposal Operations in Orlando. He has served in leadership positions in new business capture for the past 16 years with a specialty in proposal management and business capture processes. Prior to pursuing proposal management as a career, Mike served in a variety of technical and management positions in the area of large-scale computer center management.

In 2010, a team of proposal professionals from the healthcare industry joined forces to create the Healthcare Industry Task Force with the goal of improving the relevancy of APMP to members outside of the Federal government procurement process. The group mapped out its common experiences, identified best practices, and defined a common proposal process that fits the way in which we do business. In this session, I will share our findings with you. We also suspect that our low-fat, no-frills recipe is not unique to the healthcare industry. Bio: Robin Davis, AM.APMP, is a proposal and sales operations consultant with more than 20 years' experience in sales. For more than 11 years, she has focused on proposal development and leadership specializing in process design and implementation, strategy development, and proposal project leadership.
